The Green Data Center Alliance was created as a neutral foundation to find, review, implement, and track Green initiatives inside the data center envelope. To this end we will share whitepapers, ideas & thoughts, strategy & processes, technologies & techniques; proven and conceptual alike. Our goal is to reduce power, cooling & carbon footprints of these notorious abusers of energy.

We encourage all members to share their experiences; both positive and negative with the aim of controlling and containing data center power consumption. GDCA strives to lead and advance Green initiatives inside the data center.

Mission Statement

To be the central repository of information for myriad industries that design, build, operate and support data centers who wish to contain, control, and reduce power consumption inside the data center envelope.

Our charter is to work with the end-user community to define an industry standard for the evaluation of energy efficiencies inside the data center envelope.

A Call to Members

Please review the Board, Director & Committee Positions available on the following pages and respond to any you are interested in. Our first goal is to establish an excellent cross section of the various elements we see as critical to going “Green”. As positions are filled we will place Bio’s on the site.

The Annual Data Center Practice Survey

The industry is in need of reliable, independent data on power consumption and practices within the data center. The Green Data Center Alliance will be conducting this survey from its members. Any person who completes the survey will be entitled to a free copy of the finished survey at the end of the year when the results are complete. It is our hope that this data will provide a baseline against which other data center personnel may compare their performance.
